Steelforce's sustainability commitment
The use of sustainable materials in modern Australian building construction is critical for current and future generations.
Steelforce is dedicated to conducting our business to global environmental, social and commercial standards. Our commitment to the environment includes sourcing our products from environmentally responsible Australian and overseas steel mills.
Key measures of sustainability and environmentally responsible management we seek from each mill we source from includes:
- A current valid and certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) in place for the manufacturing facility where the steel is produced.
- A current member of the World Steel Association's (WSA) Climate Action Programme (CAP).
- A current Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) developed in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804. An EPD is a standardised and verified way of quantifying the environmental impacts of a product based on a consistent set of rules known as PCR (Product Category Rules).
Steelforce is able to supply specific sustainability information in relation to our mill suppliers which is often required for various sustainability rating systems used in building and construction.
